Please help a Soldier with her hair (I'm African-American)?

My hair is very damaged. I'm stationed in Germany where there are no GOOD or TRUSTWORTHY salons for females of my race (I'm in Heidelberg). They're very hard to find. I have cornrows in right now and my hair is dry and brittle. I know I can't put a relaxer in it yet. I wanted to know how does a DEEP conditioner work? Does it atleast straighten the new growth out? Oh and what is a "blow out? Please help, I'm taking them out tonite and I want to look half way decent Monday morning. Thanks!!

Well they at least have drug stores rite? Go there and find yourself a hot oil treatment by pink-lotion. If you don't see the pink lotion brand, get which ever one you can. Also get some hair grease and some gel (you might need it). Use the hot oil treatment(follow the directions on the package) If you have a blow dryer then use it ti dry your hair. The hot oil treatment should have helped make your less dry and also straighten it out. If you have the blow dryer then just straighten your hair dry and style it any way you want. If you don't have a blow dryer, your hair will be to kinky to leave as it is. You will have to use the gel you bought and style into a pony tail or something of that nature If you do a pony tail, throw a scarf or something over your hair about a half an hour before your ready to go. When you take it of, it will look as if you just got a fresh relaxer and not a hair will be out of place

Having lived in Heidelberg a long time myself I suggest you go to Frankfurt once you got some time and look for a decent hairdresser there :)

No good short term solutions though (not being a girl + not having hair at all most of the time :) )

a deep condition jus helps with the damage ur hair and mosturizes the hair shaft to prevent breakin.....and a blow out is when u blow dry ur hair to make it straight.......y dont u buy an electric hair straigting iron and a big curling iron..in the mean time

Hi! I was just wondering...is there a military exchange on the base that you're stationed at? if so, then you should be able to find something in there. But I'm sure with that being all that you have, you've probably already looked there. Forgive me if this is ignorant, I have never been stationed in Germany or ever even been there for that matter but I been overseas and know how it can be. I was in Japan for four years. There wasn't an exchange or beauty shop on the base we were on, but there was another base close by that we went to. usually a decent exchange will have a beauty shop and barber shop. Hope you have found something by now. =)
