if u have african american hair then yes but make sure yur ready to get rid of those curls because once u get a perm it wont come back the way it was

As stated from the other posts a perm will make your hair even curlier. A relaxer will straighten your hair. You can get this done at a salon which specializes in African-American or curly hair (like Ouidad).

I am bi-racial and have very tight curls. When I was younger I used to have my hair relaxed. Once you have your hair straightened this way it is untrue that it will not grow back curly if you change your mind. But the part of your hair that is relaxed will be straight while any new growth will be natural. You'll need to get touch ups to keep it straight.

Be sure to get someone who can do this procedure right! It is easy for your scalp to burn and for your hair to dry out in this process. You might also want to look into texturizing which will relax your curl so it is not as tight as opposed to straightening it. Hope this helps!
